The Initiative focuses on negotiations as one of the fundamental processes of conflict resolution domestically and internationally. It specializes in studying and translating these processes into practical, action-oriented training and recommendations for -decision'"' makers-in government, business, civil society, and international organizations
It is to provide leadership in advancing policy-relevant knowledge about the most important challenges of international security and other critical issues where science, technology, environmental policy, and international affairs intersect.
